What is the motive for people to defend this kind of thing? I can understand putting up with minor irritants, but who actually likes them?
Here's the vibe I get from this kind of pushback:
Me: I don't want a shit sandwich.
Them: There's only a tiny bit of shit in that sandwich. There's so little there, it isn't fair to call it a shit sandwich. It's mostly non-shit.
Me: Any amount of shit in a sandwich makes it a shit sandwich.
Them: Just eat the sandwich. It's better than being entirely shit.
Me: Why should there be any shit in my sandwich? What's wrong with you people?
Added: In the spirit of being, not just a complainer, but offering solutions. How about a sign on the dispenser, "Compostable Paper Hand Towels" and on the compost receptacle, Compostable Paper Towels only". Also, have a trash receptacle labeled, "Trash". See, it's possible to inform, without lecturing.
