Looking for some post wife-has-gone-to-bed fare, she doesn't like "artsy films", I put on Afterglow on the strength of it being an Alan Rudolph film--he wrote and directed one of my all-time favorite films, Choose Me.
It wasn't as good as Choose Me, but reasonably good and starred Julie Christie, still beautiful at 56 years old, Nick Nolte, always good and Lara Flynn Boyle, who had a screen presence which suggested I should have seen her in a lot of things, but somehow hadn't. I looked her up and she's been in tons of things, often things I would generally like, but just didn't see, like Twin Peaks. In fairness, it was on in the era when you either had to have a VCR or be available when it aired. I didn't even own a TV back then.
When I looked up Lara Flynn Boyle, I found a few things I would like to watch, like Red Rock West and picked up a bit of trivia. She was supposedly named after a character from Dr. Zhivago. One naturally wonders, if Boyle ever mentioned this to her co-star, who played Lara in the movie?
